The C-Valves Security Valve prevents contaminated water from flowing into the system, even if sabotage of the reservoir control valves attempts to force the valves to remain open.
A terrorist attack on closed water reservoirs might attempt sabotage of the reservoir control valves, forcing the valves to remain open. Should the sabotage succeed, although the security system issued an alarm and sent a closing signal to the valve, contaminated water would flow to unsuspecting customers. Water poisoning could lead to unprecedented disaster through loss of life.
The C-Valves security valve is a special development based on C-Valves M1 Linear Flow, Linear Control (LFLC) valve, a Normally Closed (NC) piston actuated valve with a double control chamber.
The system is comprised of a single M1 Valve or a Multi-Valve assembly including between two to six M1valves, mounted on a hydrodynamic manifold. The number of valves in a Multi-Valve assembly is determined by the system requirements: maximum flow rates and permitted head-losses.
Closing of the valve is effected by in-line pressure, one of the unique qualities of the C-Valves NC valve. The closing motion is aided by a spring, allowing closure even when there is no pressure in the line.
If external security rings of the protected water system (perimeter fence, entry gate, courtyard, ladder to a pool cover, etc) are compromised, the C-Valves Security Valve closes water supply immediately.
•The valve control cannot be disabled.
•Once closed, the valve can only be re-opened by authorized personnel in possession of the security code.
The C-Valves solution for security includes a Security Valve and an electronic control system.
The Security Valve features:
•C-Valve Normally Closed (NC) valve. The valve`s fail-safe position is closed.
•Dual-volume valve that enables complete opening using external source pressure
•The command and control compartment is located in the valve`s center, safely away from the valve`s exterior.
•The electronic activation device, electric valve and coded communication cables are secured against sabotage.
The electronic control system features:
•Unique interface card connected to the operating system, exit cards and entry supervision.
